One of the things we appreciate are well-made things. Today in our post, we're talking about Menorcan-stamped honey. This artisanal product takes us back to the countryside with Mediterranean flora, from which an exceptionally high-quality honey is produced. It's harvested between the months of May and July, directly from the estates of Menorca, and can be found in bulk or packaged in local stores. This fantastic and healthy food becomes a delight when paired with savory flavors like "sobrasada," a traditional sausage from Mallorca and Menorca that's a significant part of Balearic gastronomy. We have a habit of enjoying this combination for appetizers, snacks, or dinners, accompanied by a good red wine from the region which we'll talk about in an upcoming post. The benefits of consuming honey are varied, such as lowering blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart attacks or strokes due to its richness in antioxidants. These antioxidants help prevent blood clot formation, dilate the heart's arteries, facilitating blood flow while protecting the heart from oxidative stress. Furthermore, it's a perfect sugar substitute that aids in reducing bad cholesterol and triglycerides. Here are some of the Menorcan-inscribed brands:

  • Dolçamar
  • Mel i untis de Subaida
  • Illa de Mel
  • Mar de Mel
  • Algaiarens “Mel de la Vall”
  • Lorenzo Riera
